
March Program Minutes
A membership meeting was held on March 10, 2025, at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Watertown. There were 21 attendees: Tom LaClair, Anne Davis, Greg Plantz, Kelly Brown, Yvonne Reff, Tammy Plantz, Rita Barker, Kevin & Sharon Leeson, Jerry & Marilyn Davis, Janine LaClair, Judy & Tom Wood, George Inglehart, Donna Trumbo, Connie & Larry Barone, Mary Blanchard, Michael Case, and Larry Corbett. President Tom LaClair opened the meeting at 6:00 p.m.
Treasurer’s Report: The checking account balance is $5,689.05 and the savings account balance is $2,584.08. A motion was made to accept the report by Anne Davis, seconded by Kevin Leeson, and passed. Yvonne gave us some updates regarding the new website including the news that we received a $500 grant from the Northern New York Community Foundation. Connie Barone let us know that 2025’s traveling exhibit called The American Revolution will be at the (former) Union Hotel at 401 West Main Street, Sackets Harbor on June 27th – July 8th. A motion was made to close the business portion by Mary Blanchard, seconded by Marilyn Davis, and passed.
President Tom LaClair gave a presentation on Writing Your Family Stories based on the article in the November/December 2024 edition of the Family Tree magazine titled “Best Ways to Write Your Family Stories.” He spoke of finding inspiration, researching your family history, and ideas on how to begin writing including helpful tips. He also gave insight on how to best proofread and edit your work. More information on this topic will be available later! The meeting closed at 7:20 p.m.
